I have uncommonly good taste in music

I just got back from one of the most inspiring and wonderful concert experiences of my life. It was by a band called The Low Anthem. Honestly, the whole time I was sitting there, I kept thinking one word over and over: transcendent. The funny thing is that I hadn't really ever listened to them before. My friend (and coworker) Laura Tan and I have talked music at work a few times, and she mentioned this band to me. I didn't really take a lot of time to listen to them, but then she mentioned that they were coming to town and asked if I wanted to go. Since I trust her musical tastes and judgment, I didn't hesitate to say "yes." I listened to maybe two songs on Grooveshark before heading off to the concert.

Okay, so the title of this post is totally tongue-in-cheek (while simultaneously being completely accurate), but, the point is that I had a wonderful time listening to a band that I probably wouldn't have known about if it weren't for my friend.

It was such a cool concert. My favorite song was one where they played the musical saw. If you've never heard/seen the musical saw, you should. It's pretty great. I tried to find that song on YouTube, but I didn't know the name of it, so I failed. Oh well. Here are a couple of good ones for you to listen to instead. If you ever get the chance, I highly, highly recommend that you see these guys live. They're amazing. It felt like I was lifted up by the music and swirled around slowly in the air. It was pretty great.

That's awesome, I love being introduced to new bands! My cousin introduced me to We The Kings and some of my favorite workout songs are by them.

Funny story...the other day I started listening to these guys while I was doing some paperwork in the office. Soon after, one of my coworkers looked at me and said, "what is this, it sucks!" Ha Ha! He's dumb though, I enjoyed it though. Thanks for sharing
