Two Headed Boy

Woah.  "Blogger in Draft" has just implemented a major overhaul.  It's kind of weird to get used to.  But, I kind of like it.  I'm sure they'll be doing some tweaking between now and when they move it over to the regular Blogger side of things.  But, for now, I must say that I'm impressed, and a little confused.

Anyway.  That has nothing to do with anything.  I wanted to post something that I randomly found online.

For those of you who aren't aware, I really like a band called Neutral Milk Hotel.  They're not super well known, but their album "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" has been named by some as the greatest album ever made.  That's pretty high praise, but, it's definitely worth it.  They were WAY, way, way ahead of their time.  Reviews of the album when it came out in 1998 ranged from mostly lukewarm to cool.  But, when it was reissued in 2005, reviews were much, much more laudatory.  Pitchfork media gave it a perfect 10.

But, that's besides the point.  And, I'm just rehashing what you can read on Wikipedia.  So.  If you want to learn more, click the link above.

At any rate.  One of the things about that album is that it has really interesting/weird lyrics.  There are two songs in particular that stick out especially: Two Headed Boy, and Two Headed Boy, part 2.  I particularly love the second one. You can hear them both after the break below, if you're interested. They are pure genius.

There has been much speculation about the meaning of these two songs.  I won't pretend to know what they are about.  But, I was absolutely fascinated when I stumbled across a blog post that had the following video embedded in it.  *Note, for those who are squeamish, you may want to skip watching this.  It's not bloody or anything, but it's certainly . . . well . . . squeamy.  You have been warned*

Heartbreaking. I am counting my many blessings. Such love for a precious little one....and what of the sister lost? Thank goodness we have the gospel and know where she is now and in the eternities.
